'Education should build youth into good conduct and character'

Coimbatore: Educational vision should not only aim at promoting equity and excellence in education, but also build youth into men and women of good conduct and character, Tamil Nadu Governor,Dr K Rosaiah, said here on Thursday.

Speaking after inaugurating a Information Technology and Science block at a private college here, he said economic advancement of society depends on its educational strength. Students should develop self confidence and have good control over themselves, which will take them to greater heights.

Noting that students now go in for attractive professional courses, he said since society needs poets, lawyers, managers, engineers, doctors, scientists, sociologists, software professionals, historians and economists, equal importance should be given to all of them.

Every profession has is own place in society, Rosaiah said.
