The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday granted bail to former Punjab cabinet minister Bibi Jagir Kaur in connection to her daughter's death case.
Kaur is currently lodged in Kapurthala Central Jail.
The senior Akali Dal leader is likely to walk out of on jail Thursday evening, reports said.
The special CBI court earlier this year sentenced Kaur to five years in prison on charges of forcible abortion, wrongful confinement, abduction and criminal conspiracy.
However, she was acquitted in the murder charge of her daughter Harpreet Kaur.
Jagir also resigned from her political chair after she was convicted.
Harpreet (19) was mysteriously murdered in 2000.
She was cremated without any post-mortem examination a day after her death.
Harpreet´s husband Kamaljit Singh had filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court alleging that she was murdered.
