An expert has reportedly warned that despite the crackdown on online child abuse images shown in search results by Google and Microsoft, paedophiles would still be able to download the illegal images.

Former chief executive of the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre until 2010, Jim Gamble said that blocking the 1,00,000 'unambiguous' search terms which lead to child sex abuse images is 'not the solution' to stop perverts feeding their depravity.

According to metro.co.uk, Gamble warned that paedophiles trawl peer-to-peer websites, not popular search engines like Google and Microsoft's Bing to access such content.

Gamble praised David Cameron for lending his support to the Google and Microsoft move of incorporating new algorithms or software instructions that will show no results to prevent searches for child abuse imagery.

Child protection experts have opined that most illegal abuse images cannot be found via web searches, but are hidden on peer-to-peer networks with the use of encrypted networks and other secure methods. (ANI)
