The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday filed a chargesheet at a special court in Ahmedabad in connection to the Tulsi Prajapati fake encounter case in which the probe agency has named former Gujarat minister Amit Shah and 19 others.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate AY Dave accepted the chargesheet but kept the issue of taking cognisance pending till the documents are verified by the court.
The further hearing on the matter will take place on Oct 10.
The Supreme Court on Sept 27 rejected the plea of the CBI that the bail of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi confidant Amit Shah in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case be denied, thus allowed him to return to Gujarat.
Underworld criminal Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausar Bi were allegedly taken to the Arham Farm in Gujarat on the night of Nov 25, 2005, a day before Sohrabuddin was killed in what is suspected as a fake encounter by Gujarat police.
Kausar Bi was allegedly kept captive in the same farm before she was killed and her body burnt.
