Ahead of Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik 's visit to India, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Friday asked its neighbour to fast track the trial in 26/11 Mumbai attack case.

"We have urged Pakistan to fast track the trial and there is some indication that it may happen," Khurshid told reporters on his way to Myanmar.

"We have seen a little movement as far as the accountability of 2008 Mumbai attacks is concerned," he said.

Khurshid said India should ´go with open mind with a reasonable determination to push things in a direction we want´.

Khurshid made the comments on a day when Pakistan´s Interior Minister Rehman Malik is visiting India from Friday afternoon.

Malik´s visit is scheduled from Dec 14 to 16 on the invitation of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.

Ahead of the visit, Indian high commissioner in Pakistan, Sharat Sabharwal, met Malik in Islamabad.

They discussed bilateral issues and subjects of mutual interests, officials in Pakistan said.

According to reports, Malik could meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday.

Malik is scheduled to arrive at 2 pm and would be accompanied by his wife.

During his talks in India, the hosts would raise the issue of 26/11 trial and the role of LeT leader Hafeez Saeed in the attack.
