Marrakech (Morocco), March 10 (IANS) FIFA president Sepp Blatter arrived here to take part in the 35th Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ordinary General Assembly.
CAF president Issa Hayatou of Cameroon will be re-elected unopposed for a final four-year term as its president.
There will also be elections for the CAF Executive Committee members as well as the continent's representative to the FIFA Executive Committee for 2013-17, reports Xinhua.
Cote d'Ivoirian Jacques Anouma, one of the four Africans on the FIFA Executive Committee, wanted to oppose Hayatou but a change to the election rules disqualified him.
Anouma and the Cote d'Ivorian and Liberian football associations made four appeals to the Switzerland-based Court for Arbitration in Sport (CAS) in an effort to overturn the ruling but it backed CAF each time.
