Panaji, Nov 30 (IBNS) Music is an integral part of my cinema and has been the inspiration for me to make films, said Spandan Banerjee, director of critically acclaimed 'You Don't Belong'.
Addressing a press conference at the 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI-2011) here Wednesday, he said 'You Don't Belong' is a story of migration told through folk music.
"The movie is in black and white and is rich with Bengal folk music," said the director.
Rupalina Bose, the script writer of the film, said they are now working on a full length feature film titled 'The Golden Triangle'.
In the film, 'You Don't Belong', myth and memory, home and migration are the larger narratives emerging from the journey of a song into the urban mainstream.
The film asks important questions about the encounter between art and mass production, creation and ownership in a country rich with myriad fold and oral traditions.
The movie received the Special Jury Mention at IDSFFK 2011, Kerala.
