Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Yash Chopra died on Sunday after spending a week in hospital coping with dengue fever. He was 80.
Chopra had been admitted to Mumbai´s Lilavati hospital last Saturday and media reports ;ast Wednesday had said his health had improved.
The veteran filmmaker Chopra last month had announced his retirement from film direction.
Indian film-buffs are eagerly waiting to see 80-year-old Chopra´s latest directorial venture ´Jab Tak Hai Jaan´.
The film features Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles.
It is scheduled to hit the big screen on Nov 13.
Chopra has charmed Indian audience with films like ´Daag´, ´Joshila´, ´Silsila´, ´Dil To Pagal Hai´, ´Veer-Zaara´.
He is survived by his wife Pamela and two sons Aditya and Uday.
