Five people were arrested on charges of raping on last week a law student in Bangalore near the campus of National Law School of India University (NLSIU), police said on Saturday.
The arrests were made on Friday night, police said.
A second year undergraduate student of NLSIU was allegedly gangraped on Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University on Oct 13.
The 21-year-old victim, who hails from Nepal, was with a male friend in a car when they were stopped by a group of six to eight drunk men.
The police quoted from the complaint of the victim´s male friend and said the attackers first attacked him, beat him up and then dragged him out of the car.
They took him to a forested area on the Jnana Bharathi campus of Bangalore University and dumped him there, the police said.
The youth said in his complaint that when he returned to the spot he could not find the girl or the attackers.
The police combed the area after the victim´s friend lodged a complaint in a police station.
He said the victim later called him and said she was gangraped.
She said the attackers also looted her valuables including an iPad and an iPhone.
The victim was admitted to Vanivilas Women and Children Hospital where she underwent medical tests.
