Former West Bengal Minister and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Susanta Ghosh was released from Kolkata's Alipore Central Jail on Tuesday.
He was taken to custody in Aug on charges of murder after a chilling discovery of seven skeletons near his residence in West Midnapore district in June last year.
He was granted interim bail by the Sureme Court last week.
Ghosh has been in custody since Aug 11.
On June 4 an FIR was filed against him by the son of one Ajoy Acharya whose son claimed that one of the skeletons found near Ghosh´s house was of his father.
He identified the skeleton from a piece of cloth attached to it.
Susanta Ghosh, who was allegedly a strongman from West Midnapore against whom several charges of atrocities were levelled at various times, was Paschimanchal Unnayan (West Region Development ) Affairs Minister during the Left Front regime that came to an end after 34 years in May this year after the Trinamool Congress-Congress combine led by Mamata Banerjee swept to power.
