Four tonnes of ancient coins found

Beijing, Dec 23 (IANS) Four tonnes of ancient coins have been found in China's Shaanxi province.

The huge trove was dug out by workers in Huaxian, the China Daily reported Thursday. Authorities said the coins may be from the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

According to the characters imprinted on the coins, they may have been minted between 1102 and 1106.
