Indore: Though a person was tested positive for the H1N1 virus in Madhya Pradesh, he defeated the virus on his own.
Swine flu has claimed 64 lives so far, as official reports.
However, with the dreaded virus knocking the doors of the state, Health department officials took no chance and has immediately rushed a team of doctors to the residence of the affected person -- who got well on his own through natural process of healing -- to collect the samples of other members of the family, official sources said on Sunday.
The person in question, whose identity was not revealed, suspected to have contracted the virus while travelling between Mumbai and Delhi.
His sample was sent to the National Institute of Communicable Disease (NICD) on August 12, the sources said.
Samples of those persons with whom he got in contact since August 12 would also be collected for examination, they said.
A total of 16 samples including that of one tested positive were sent from Indore for examination to NICD since last fortnight and among them 12 are found to be negative.
Meanwhile, taking the issue seriously the health officials started reviewing the situation again and forming strategies to combat the virus more effectively, the sources added.
