Girl killed, two cops injured in two Delhi road accidents

New Delhi, March 4 (IANS) A 10-year-old girl died and two policemen were injured herein two separate road incidents, police said Monday.

The 10-year-old girl was killed when a speeding three-wheeler hit the scooter she was going on with her grandfather on Desh Bandhu Gupta road in central Delhi Sunday evening.Police said that the deceased was identified as Jiah.

The three-wheeler driver, Sanjeev Kumar, 31, was arrested after passers-by caught hold of him while he was trying to escape from the spot, police said.

In second incident, two policemen were injured after a speeding truck hit a Police Control Room (PCR) van in south Delhi's Vasant Vihar area Sunday around 10.15 p.m.

The victims - identified as constable Giriraj, 29, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Mangal Ram, 46 - are recuperating, said a police officer.

The truck jumped off the divider and hit the moving PCR vehicle. The driver has been arrested.
