The Dubai Hub of the Global Shapers community was officially launched on Wednesday by the Founding Curator of the Hub, Yasar Jarrar, a Partner in Bain and Company and a former Executive Dean of the Dubai School of Government, who is also a member of the World Economic Forum's Community of Young Global Leaders.
He brings his expertise on public policy and developing talent by working with 13 Global Shapers on initiatives focusing on education and career choices for young people.
Nominated under the age of 30, Global Shapers form a worldwide multistakeholder community of promising young leaders who want to build on their achievements and entrepreneurial drive to make a positive contribution to their communities.
Speaking at the launch, Borge Brende, Managing Director at the World Economic Forum, said "The United Arab Emirates is a long-term partner of the World Economic Forum and we are very proud to have a strong Dubai Hub join the Global Shapers Community. These young leaders in Dubai have made an admirable commitment to serve their city. They will also be able to influence like-minded leaders who are part of the Global Shapers community in cities across the world."
