The crucial Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) electoral alliance is confirmed. Union Minister and NCP's central leader Praful Patel on Saturday confirmed the alliance with the Congress for the upcoming March 3 polls.
The party will contest on seven seats in the 40-member House, party sources said.
The list of names of aspirants and constituencies were however not released. "We will announce the details only two days later," a senior party leader said.
Patel, who is in Goa to finalise the names of candidates, had several rounds of meeting with the core-committee, executives and aspirants in a South Goa resort Saturday.
Speaker of Legislative Assembly Pratapsing Rane, his son and State Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane, State Home Minister Ravi Naik and his sons Ritesh and Roy, sitting MLA Pandurang Madkaikar were among many others who met the union minister.
