Goa Guv expresses grief over bus tragedy

Panaji, Mar 19 (IBNS) Goa Governor Bharat Vir Wanchoo has expressed 'shock' and 'deep grief' over the bus tragedy which took place at Khed in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district, early Tuesday morning killing 37 persons and injuring 14 so far.

In a press statement issued a couple of minutes ago, the Governor has conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the bereaved families of the deceased, and wished the injured persons very speedy recovery and good health.

The Mumbai-bound bus had left from Goa late Monday night carrying around 35 passengers from three different boarding points at Margao, Panaji and Mapusa. The remaining passengers had boarded from other places.

It has been learnt that four Goan passengers have lost their lives.

The state legislative assembly also condoled the death of travelers in the crash.

The government has decided to register the names of all passengers traveling on the inter-state routes via bus as it has com to the fore that several seats were booked under same names.
