The crime incidents against women and especially minor girls have become a major cause of concern with over a dozen rape and molestation cases reported since January this year.

The rape of seven year old girl in her school at Vasco on January 14, 2013 has still not faded away from the minds of the people.

The police have till date failed to trace the whereabouts of the rapist and arrest him.

The government's main Opposition - Congress has cornered the Manohar Parrikar government over the rising incidents of crime against women in the state.
