Panaji, July 23 (IBNS) Two Congress ministers - Churchill Alemao and Joaquim Alemao on Saturday submitted their resignations to Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat after the party high command disqualified Churchill's daughter Valanka from the Indian Youth Congress elections.

Churchill, minister for Public Works Department and his brother Joaquim, minister for Urban Development have also resigned from the primary membership of Congress party.

Foundation For Advance Management (FAME) disqualified Valanka from contesting any post in Indian Youth Congress (IYC) and Nationalist Students Union of India (NSUI) for one year.

NSUI Zonal Returning Officer Sumit Khanna said the disqualification was because Valanka violated the code of conduct by taking help of senior party leaders for electoral gains. "This is disturbing the party field," khanna said.

Valanka was issued a show cause notice on July 19 to which she replied on the very same day. FAME was however not convinced with her reply and hence the Election Commission of India for IYC disqualified her candidature.

The forthcoming IYC Goa unit elections are scheduled for July 26 and 27.
