Golden Globe: Affleck gets Best Director

Actor-filmmaker Ben Affleck grabbed the Best Motion Picture, Drama trophy at the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards for his film 'Argo' by beating films like 'Life of Pi', 'Lincoln', 'Zero Dark Thirty' and 'Django Unchained' here on Sunday.

Affleck also clinched the Best Director, Motion Picture trophy for his thriller.

´Les Miserables´ won the Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) while actors Hugh Jackman ( Actor, Musical or Comedy) and Anne Hathaway (Supporting Actress) bagged the acting awards for their performances in the movie.



Meanwhile, ´Homeland´ clinched the Best Television Series trophy.

The event witnessed many high-profile celebrities from Hollywood turning up, dressed in designer outfits, thus raising the glamour quotient at the Red Carpet.

The Golden Globe Award is an honor bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) recognizing excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign.
