Amritsar: Fake Indian currency with a face value of Rs nine lakh was seized from a goods train that arrived from Pakistan at the Attari Railway Station in the district, officials said on Wednesday.

The currency was hidden in a specially-created cavity in the goods train and was found during an inspection by an assistant commissioner last evening, they said.

Attari Railway Station is the last station on the Indian side.
