Celebrating Children's Day, popular search Google on Wednesday designed its homepage with a colourful doodle designed by the winner of 'Doodle 4 Google India 2012' contest Arun Kumar Yadav.
Arun, a class IX student of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chandigarh, was selected as the winner of the contest from among 13 finalists chosen from more than two lakh entries from 60 Indian cities.
The title of his doodle is ´India - A prism of multiplicity´.
The doodle depicts various things that are associated with India including a Kathakali dancer, gold jewellery, peacock, a farmer and flowers.
The theme for this year´s competition was "Unity in Diversity".
Describing the doodle, the Doodle 4 Google India 2012 page said: "India has diverse cultures, religions, languages, customs and traditions. This diversity can be witnessed in enthusiasm for sports; unique folk culture; extraordinary remarkable handicrafts; wide range of flora and fauna; agricultural practices with worldwide farming output; unparalleled spices and cuisines... Such colossal diversities represent India´s oneness."
