Google is running a doodle, which celebrates the 200th anniversary of Grimm's Fairy Tales.
All of us are familiar with these German folk tales - Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Beauty and the Beast, Hansel and Gratel, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Rumpelstiltskin, Goldilocks and the Three Bears - just to name a few.
In 1812, Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm, collected the best fairy tales of their age, involving princes, princesses, castles and magic, and put together the first edition of the Children's and Household Tales. It is considered one of the most successful books in the German language.
However, the tales are more popular in Asia, India, even in the US and in Europe, but not as much in its native land.
