Madras High Court has granted anticipatory bail to Durai Dayanidhi, son of Union minister M.K. Alagiri, in a granite mining case, said reports.

Durai, who is the grandson of DMK chief M Karunanidhi, is among those accused of illegal mining for granite in and around Madurai.

The DMK has been accusing Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa and her party AIADMK of slapping fake legal cases on its leaders.

However, police claim they have strong evidence against Olympus Granites, the company of which Durai is director.
