Vadodara: Gujarat Health Minister Jaynarayan Vyas  said that the state government has set up a special dialysis ward in the kidney hospital at Ahmedbad to treat victims of spurious hooch tragedy.

He said that 17 persons affected by poisonous liquor have been put on dialysis and arrangements have been made to put 50 more victims on dialysis.

The minister said steroid injections have also been arranged to save victims from losing their vision. Vyas ruled out any change in the prohibition policy of the state government saying it will stay.

"It is very tragic incident which has shocked every one," he said.
