Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of those killed in Saturday's serial blasts.
The government has also announced compensation of Rs 50,000 to the injured.
Modi convened an emergency meeting at the police headquarter in Gandhinagar and reviewed the security situation.
The Chief Minister also appealed to people to maintain peace and asked the people to cooperate in maintaining law and order in the state.
"The act of terrorism is intended to disturb peace and harmony in the state. Those who want to destroy peace would never succeed in their intentions," Modi said.
Sixteen serial blasts rocked the city in which 20 people have died and more than 100 are injured.
The blasts took place a day after the Bangalore blasts.
