Islamabad: Warning the government about an alleged Indian plan to turn Pakistan barren by impeding the water flow in the rivers feeding the country, Jamaat-ud Daawa (JuD) chief Hafeez Saeed has asked Islamabad to hold a dialogue with New Delhi in this regard.

Saeed was addressing a meeting of party workers in Sialkot and Sahiwal Monday during Iftar parties, Online news agency reported Tuesday.

The Pakistan government should hold serious dialogues with India over this crucial issue, which could be devastating for the agro-based economy of Pakistan, he said.

Saeed, the Lashkar-i-Taiba founder and alleged mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, also criticised the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government for reopening NATO supply routes to Afghanistan.
