HC flays language in reality show "Rakhi ka Insaaf"

Allahabad: Slamming the language used in reality TV show "Rakhi ka Insaaf", the Allahabad High Court today held that programmes "should not transcend the bounds of ethical value" and give "due sensitivity to the society at large".

It also said it was high time government disallows telecast of shows "which are unpalatable and offensive to individual self-esteem and self-respect".

The remarks came from a division bench comprising Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice Ram Autar Singh on a writ petition of Anju Raikwar and three others who have been named in an FIR filed in Jhansi district.
