Heroin worth Rs six crore seized

Araria: Customs sleuths have seized heroin worth Rs six crore in the international market from a train at Jogbani railway station in Bihar's Araria district, an official said today.

Acting on a tip off, the sleuths of custom department with the assistance of the SSB, RPF and local police carried out a search in Anand Vihar-Jogbani Seemanchal Express last night and recovered 970 gram of the drug, Customs' Assistant Commissioner Jyotiradiya said.

The heroin was manufactured in Thailand, he said, adding no arrest has been made in this connection.

An investigation is going on in the matter, the Customs official said.
