In yet another incident of honor killing the police on Monday arrested three brothers in Noida district of Uttar Pradesh for allegedly killing their sister and dumping her body in Yamuna River.
The brothers, identified as Subhas, Lalit and Vikas, killed their sister Seema for having an affair with a boy outside their community.
Reportedly, their mother Sheela, a resident of Nangli Nangla village, lodged a complaint in Sector 49 police station suspecting the brothers for carrying out the gruesome murder following which the three were arrested. All of them have agreed to the charges levied against them.
The accused told police that they didn't like their sister having an affair with the boy and despite warning Seema several times, she continued her relationship.
The three also confessed that on the night of Dec 28, they took her in a car to Chaprauli Mangroli village where they tried to explain her to mend ways but when she refused to agree, they killed her by hitting her head with a metal tool.
They also said that the body was dumped near the barrage of Hindon River; however, it is yet to be recovered.
The whereabouts of the boy involved in the relationship are still to be traced.
