IBPS Common Written Exam for clerical posts 2012

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) provides recruitment, promotion and placement services to banking and non-banking sectors in India. The Institute helps in recruitment of entry, middle and senior level candidates as well as in assessing general and specialist cadres.

IBPS has announced the second common written exam (CWE) for clerical posts in 20 Public Sector Banks this year.

Name & No. of Posts

The Institute will conduct a written exam for recruitment to clerical posts in December 2012 (tentative).

The banks participating in the test are Allahabad Bank, Indian Bank, Andhra Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Bank of Baroda, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Punjab & Sind Bank, Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank,
Central Bank of India, UCO Bank, Corporation Bank, Union Bank of India, Dena Bank, United Bank of India, IDBI Bank and Vijaya Bank.

Minimum Age Limit/Experience and Qualification

Candidates between the age of 20 to 28 years with a pass in any degree from a recognized university as on 1.10.2012 can apply. A certification in computers is required if the degree does not comprise a computer course.

Selection Process

This year, OMR sheets will not be used for marking answers. The test will be conducted online and will be of a two-hour duration with a total of 200 questions from the quantitative aptitude, reasoning, GK, computer and English language sections. A negative marking of 0.25 marks of the total marks of the question will be made in case of errors.

Mode of Submitting Application Form

Candidates can apply online from 15.10.2012 to 05.11.2012 and no other mode of application will be accepted. Payment of fees can be done in the online or offline modes. Online payment can be made using a debit/credit card. For the offline mode, the system generated challan can be submitted at any branch of Bank of Maharashtra, Punjab National Bank, Central Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank or United Bank of India.
