The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has started the registration process of CA Common Proficiency Test (CPT) from October 4.Candidates who are interested to apply may visit the official website at icaiexam.icai.org and fill in the application form.
The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) will be conducted by ICAI on 17 December 2017 (Sunday) in two sessions (10.30 am to 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm) at 191 cities in the country along with centres at Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu and Muscat.
It is informed that only those candidates who had already registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the Common Proficiency Course on or before 30 June 2017 are eligible to apply for the CPT application form.
Exam pattern: The Fundamentals of accounting and Mercantile Law paper will be held at the morning session and will begin at 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude will start at 2 pm and end at 4 pm. Candidates have to attempt a minimum of 170 questions to pass the exam and graduate to the next level.
Fees: All applicants for Common Proficiency Test (CPT) are required to apply online at the official website by October 25, 2017 (without late fees) and upto November 1, 2017 with late fees of Rs 600.
The fees payable for the Common Proficiency Test is Rs 1000 for centres in India while Rs 1700 for centres in Kathmandu (Nepal). $300 is the amount that aspirants have to pay for those applying in centres in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai and Muscat.
