Perth, Jan 15 (IBNS) India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said Saturday that his team's inability to adapt to foreign conditions was the key behind their embarrassing losses in the last two overseas Test tours.
"What has happened, the last couple of series, we have not adapted well to the conditions quickly enough. Winning in Adelaide is the only motivation we have now, the bowlers have shown they can take wickets, we need to put the runs on the board," said Dhoni, as India suffered its seventh successive Test loss overseas.
Dhoni said David Warner´s whirlwind 180 took away the match from India.
"We didn´t perform well up till now. Warner played really well, in that one session he took the game away from us. The failure in the batting definitely hurt us." Dhoni said.
Backing the seniors, Dhoni said: "Class is always there, they have the experience, its just in two back-to-back series that we have failed."
Dhoni said repeated batting failures was hurting the team.
