India forays into music merchandise

Leading music label, Universal Music Group on Monday announced that is has tied up with Free Authority, the private brand of Bioworld Merchandising India, to launch the 'Bravado' music merchandise in form of t-shirts for the music fans across the country.

Free Authority, incorporated in the year 2009, has carved a niche in the Indian Fashion Industry and together with Universal Music Group India will help bring authentic music merchandise for the first time to Indian music lovers.

Devraj Sanyal, Managing Director - Universal Music India & SAARC, said, "As the leading music business globally, I am very proud to launch another important vertical in our business - merchandising. For fans to have legal availability of merchandise of their favorite stars in all leading retail across India is a very exciting proposition.

"The Bravado merchandise which has hit the stores countrywide is from the world's largest music merchandise company and is a global UMI group company. I am sure we will see great traction from today's youth who is slowly and surely migrating away from pirated products. "

The 'Bravado' Music Merchandise, which is getting released in India, primarily constitutes of t-shirts.

'Bravado' is in the business that blends music, creativity and fashion by identifying the breaking trends.

The t-shirts that will be available will be of the leading international music icons with a large following in India.

The first line-up includes Linkin Park, The Rolling Stones, Guns N Roses, The Doors, Eminem, Korn & the ever popular Michael Jackson.

The products will be soon available in Lifestyle, Central, Reliance, PlanetM and other leading stores.

The music merchandise t-shirts will also be available on online stores viz. Myntra, Jabong, and others.
