India to face Australia in quarters if they beat Windies

New Delhi, March 19 (IANS) India will face World Cup defending champions Australia if they win Sunday's encounter against the West Indies.

The India-West Indies encounter at the M.Chidambaram Stadium will determine the final standings in Group B.

If India win, they will finish second while the West Indies will be fourth, behind England. South Africa have already finished as group toppers while England would be third.

The Group A standings have already been finalised. Pakistan finished on top, co-hosts Sri Lanka are second followed by Australia and New Zealand in the third and fourth places.

In the quarterfinals, India would meet Australia, Pakistan would take on the West Indies, Sri Lanka will play England and South Africa will face New Zealand.
