New Delhi, Aug 27 (IBNS) The Indian government's Science and Technology department will organize a one-day national meet on "India at the Large Hadron Collider" on Aug 29 in New Delhi.
India has been involved in Large Hadron Collider related work since long. India has also been actively involved in CMS, ALICE and GRID projects and contributed in the recent discovery of Higgs Boson (popularly known as God particle).
Institutions like BARC, TIFR, SINP, IIT Mumbai and Delhi, Punjab and Vishwa Bharati University groups are in CMS experiment and have contributed to the recent discovery of Higgs like particle.
Institutions like VECC, and University groups like Rajasthan, Aligarh, Jammu and some other groups are in ALICE experiment which is looking for primordial state of matter after Big Bang such as the quark-gluon plasma.
Other institutions such as RRCAT, IGCAR, BHEL, ECIL, ATL, IGTR have contributed to accelerator and electronics at LHC (Large Hadron Collider).
