The Indian women's hockey team thrashed Canada by 4-1 margin in their second game for the Olympic qualifiers for hockey at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts had taken a 3-0 lead in the first half of the match and scored another one in the second half of the game to secure three points at the end of clash.
Soundarya Yendala (16th minute), Rani Rampal (19th), Sushila Chanu Pukhrambam (29th) and Anuradha Devi Thokchom (49th) scored for India in the crucial clash against the world number 20th team.
Hannah Haughn (69th) scored the only goal for Canada in the fag end of the game.
The Indian eves played aggressively right from the beginning of the clash on Sunday and the scoreline reflected their performance.
Earlier on Saturday, the home side had gained one point by scoring a draw against lowly Ukraine. The scorecard of the match showed 1-1.
