London: An Indian doctor in the UK has been jailed on charges of manslaughter following a man's death after he wrongly diagnosed him.
A court sent Dr Bala Kovvali to jail for two-and-a-half years because he ignored the classic signs of diabetes-related poisonous acids building up in 42-year-old Andrew Fellows' body and said the patient was just depressed and had a headache, Daily Mail reported.
Fellows died at home less than nine hours later.
"It was criminal negligence and a wholly preventable death followed," the judge said.
Kovvali, 64, admitted that the death occurred because of his negligence, the report added.
