Purbo Paschim, a trust for cultural works in India and Bangladesh, organized the International Bangla Film Critic Award (IBFCA) here at Science City on Saturday .

The event was organised to celebrate the contribution of Bengali cinema and dignitaries of the film industries from both India and Bangladesh were invited.

However, most of them skipped the event. Popular film personalities such as Aparna Sen, Sandip Ray, Rituparno Ghosh, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Koel Mullick, Swastika Mukherjee, Sabitri Chatterjee, Anjan Dutt, Sandhya Roy and Madhabi Mukherjee gave the event a miss.

Moreover, the organizers had printed names of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor M.K Narayanan on the guest cards without their consent.

Anupam Roy got the best lyricist, music director and singer awards for Baishe Shrabon. But he wasn´t too happy with the show the organizers put up.

"Unprofessional conduct of the organizers made IBFCA a disgraceful event," said Roy.
