West Bengal Governor M.K Narayanan on Thursday inaugurated INFOCOM 2012, a congregation of Information Communication Technology (ICT) professionals, buyers-sellers, corporate leaders, academicians, visionaries and policymakers in India, here.
INFOCOM 2012, the four-day conference and exhibition under the banner of Businessworld from the house of ABP Pvt Ltd, is one of the largest platforms for IT experts and gurus of the corporate world to interact with business users and policy makers for empowering businesses with IT.
Around 1,200 delegates with 40 sponsoring companies and over 100 business exhibitors would come forward to showcase their corporate products, new business ideas and strategies spread here, said officials.
"The theme for this year's INFOCOM is mobility," said the governor at the inaugural session.
To open the pathway of opportunity and success, 75 visionary speakers and business gurus across the globe such as Ralph Simon, CEO and founder of Mobillium Global, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and Neal Peterson would be sharing their ideas for the future policy makers and future leaders.
Speaking on the job opportunity in India, Narayanan said, "Already 2.3 lakh jobs have been created and West Bengal has the best intellectual potential."
"The IT BPO sector is expected to bring in a revenue of $7 billion in 2012," he said, adding that the land issue was being addressed.
The exhibition is on from December 6 to 9 at the Milan Mela Complex.
