IPL 6: CSK thrash Pune Warriors

MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashed Pune Warriors by 37 runs in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium here on Tuesday.

Chasing 165 for victory, Pune scored 127 for nine in 20 overs.

Steven Smith remained the top scorer for Pune with his 35 runs off 39 balls. He hit three boundaries in his innings.

Chennai´s Mohit Sharma remained the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets by giving away 21 runs in his four overs.

Earlier, CSK scored 164 for three in 20 overs.

Suresh Raina hit 63 runs off 50 balls while skipper MS Dhoni hammered an unbeaten 45 runs off 16 balls that helped CSK post a competitive total on the scoreboard.

Raina smashed five boundaries and a six in his unbeaten knock.

Dhoni hit four boundaries and three sixes in his entertaining innings as both the batsmen added 61 runs in the fourth wicket partnership.

CSK lost the wickets of Michael Hussey (5) and Wriddhiman Saha (13) quite quickly as the home side stood at 28 for two after 5.4 overs.

Raina and S Badrinath (34) steadied the innings as they added 75 runs in the third wicket partnership.
