IPL 6: Delhi beat Pune Warriors

Delhi Daredevils defeated Pune Warriors by 15 runs in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium here on Sunday.

Chasing 165 for victory, Pune managed to scored 149 for four in 20 overs.

Robin Uthappa (37) and 76 runs Aaron Finch (37) gave Pune a solid start as the openers scored 76 runs on the first wicket partnership.

Delhi´s Irfan Pathan, however, got rid of Uthappa and Finch in his third over.

Yuvraj Singh (31) and Luke Wright (19) added 50 runs in the third wicket partnership to keep Pune´s hopes alive.

Umesh Yadav picked up the wickets of Singh and Wright in the 18th over to make things difficult for Pune.

Steven Smith (17*) and Mithun Manhas (2*) failed to reach the target.

Earlier, David Warner hammered unbeaten 51 off 25 balls that helped Delhi post 164 runs for five in 20 overs.

Warner hit four boundaries and equal number of sixes in his innings.

Virender Sehwag (28) and Kedar Jadhav (25) made some important contributions with their willows.

Ashok Dinda scalped three wickets for Pune.

In the other match of the day, MS Dhoni´s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 14 runs in the 38th match of the tournament at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Chasing CSK´s 200 for three, KKR managed to score 186 for four in 20 overs.

Manvinder Bisla scored 92 runs of 61 balls that included 14 boundaries and two sixes.

Earlier, riding on Michael Hussey´s 95 runs off 59 balls, CSK posted 200 runs on the scoreboard.

Hussey hit 11 boundaries and two sixes in his innings.
