Jacques Kallis contributed crucial 41 runs and spinner Sunil Narine took four wickets that helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 60th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at JSCA International Stadium Complex here on Sunday.
Chasing RCB´s 115 for nine, KKR reached the target of 116 runs by losing only five wickets in 19.2 overs.
Kallis scored 41 runs off 45 balls that included four boundaries while Manoj Tiwary added 24 runs with his willow.
Kallis and Tiwary added 35 runs in the crucial fourth wicket partnership.
Skipper Gautam Gambhir (14) and Yusuf Pathan (18) joined Kallis in small partnerships of 31 runs and 30 runs respectively.
R Vinay Kumar picked up two wickets for RCB.
Earlier, KKR bowlers restricted RCB to 115 for nine in 20 overs.
Chris Gayle (33) and AB de Villiers (28) were the top scorers for RCB.
Narine picked up four wickets for KKR including the wicket of dangerous Chris Gayle.
