Bangalore: A local court on Tuesday remanded a woman, who was arrested inside the premises of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bangalore with a fake identity card, to four-day police custody.
41-year-old woman Buela M Sam was produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court here on Tuesday.
She was arrested on Sept 21 as she tried to slip into a meeting that was held at the ISRO headquarters posing as a scientist with a fake identity card, the police said.
Sam was reportedly arrested by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in charge of the security of the ISRO.
She was later handed over to the Bangalore Police.
Bangalore Police Commissioner Jyoti Prakash Mirji said Sam's husband Alex, who is a high school teacher from Kerala, has claimed his wife is mentally unstable.
The police said Sam visited Kerala's Kollam city to attend the last rites of her father on Sept 19.
She later returned to Bangalore and stayed at ISRO's guest house at Jeevan Beemanagar by showing the fake identity card, the police said.
Sam has been booked under sections 420 (cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document or electronic record) and 490 (breach of contract of service during voyage or journey) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)
Pertinently, the woman hails from Ahmedabad.
