J&K: Policemen killed by militants

Militants shot dead two policemen in Jammu and Kashmir's Handwara town on Saturday, police said.

The deceased constables belonged to the Indian Reserve Police (IRP), the police said.

According to reports, the militants shot the constables from point blank range.

The constables were taken to a sub-district hospital where they were declared brought dead.

The area was cordoned off after the incident. The police have conducted searches in the town.

No militant group has claimed responsibility of the attack so far.
