Jammu and Kashmir's state authorities organised an employment fair for the Valley's youth in Anantnag District.
The fair was organised with an aim to create awareness among the unemployed youth about various self-employment schemes and programmes.
A large number of unemployed youth attended the fair that was organized by the Department of Employment and Counseling Centre.
"If we will promote such things then it would be very beneficial for the people. So to attract people to such things we have organised this fair today. I am very hopeful that people will come and gather information. They will not only gain information but they will also reap benefits from the various schemes that were introduced," said District Development Commissioner Kifayat Hussain.
The fair saw the participation of various departments of the state including horticulture, agriculture, animal and sheep husbandry, district industries centre, fisheries and sericulture, who set up their stalls and informed the people about various job opportunities in their respective sectors.
A visitor at the fair Abdul Rashid told reporters that such fairs would prove beneficial for the unemployed youth in the region and they should be organised in the future as well.
"The concerned departments have participated in this fair to create awareness and ensure that we reap the benefits of the information provided. These days it is difficult to get government jobs, so one should try his luck in the private sector and they have arranged various schemes in this regard and people would benefit from this and they will look towards these sectors," said Rashid.
The government at present is taking all possible steps to address the problems of the youth in restive Kashmir and in wake of this they launched several schemes, which are aimed to provide employment to them. (ANI)
