Jaswant confident of AIADMK, BJD support

National Democratic Alliance (NDA)'s candidate and BJP leader Jaswant Singh has said he is confident of getting the support of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa's All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the upcoming Vice-Presidential poll.

"Yes, I do believe that and I bank on it," Singh said while speaking about BJD´s support during an interview with Karan Thapar on Devil´s Advocate show on CNN-IBN.

Speaking on AIADMK´s support, he said: "Yes I´m (confident)."

"I have no difficulty with silence," he said.

Singh earlier this month filed his nomination papers for the Vice-Presidential poll.

Vice-President Hamid Ansari, who is United Progressive Alliance (UPA) candidate, filed his nomination papers for a re-election.

The VP election is scheduled for Aug 7.
