Jaya to take up important issues of TN with Prime Minister

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will take up "various important issues" of the state with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is arriving here today on a two-day visit.

"The Chief Minister will be receiving the Prime Minister at the airport and calling on him at the Raj Bhavan and present a memorandum on various important issues of Tamil Nadu," a government release here said.

The Prime Minister is on a two-day visit to the state and is scheduled to participate in functions at Chennai and Karaikudi.

Jayalalithaa is likely to take up with him issues including the ongoing Mullaperiyar row and the Koodankulam protests.
