Chennai, Jan 15 (IBNS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch L K Advani on Sunday called Tamil Nadu chief minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) supremo J Jayalalithaa and her party a natural ally.
"We see a natural ally in Jayalalithaa," he told reporters during participation in the 42nd anniversary function of Tamil weekly Tughlaq run by noted political commentator Cho Ramaswamy.
Advani said though the Tamil Nadu chief minister is not part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) group, there is an understanding with the southern party in Parliament and on other issues.
The function was also graced by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, considered a friend of Jayalalithaa.
Advani also praised Jayalalithaa for her works in Tamil Nadu, with the good words coming significantly soon after the latter said she was eyeing a national role for her party.
