A Delhi court on Monday granted bails to two journalists of Zee News channel who were arrested over charges of trying to extort Rs 100 crore from Congress MP and industrialist Naveen Jindal by manipulating their reportage on the alleged coal block allocation scam.
Granting bail, Additional Sessions Judge Raj Rani Mitra directed Sudhir Chaudhary and Samir Ahluwalia to furnish a personal bond of Rs. 50,000 each and surety of equal amount.
The court asked them to surrender their passports, reports said.
Sudhir Chaudhary, head of Zee News, and Samir Ahluwalia, head of Zee Business, were arrested late last month on charges of extortion filed by Jindal´s company Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL).
