A Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) worker was killed as police allegedly lathicharged on a group of party members when they were protesting outside the state assembly on Monday.
The workers were reportedly protesting outside the Jharkhand assembly in demand of rehabilitation of people, who were displaced at the time of construction of the Bokaro Steel Plant, media reports said.
The police resorted to baton charge when the workers attempted to break through a barricade that was created outside the assembly.
The assembly on Monday witnessed a drama when a Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) MLA Samresh Singh ripped off his shirt inside the Jharkhand Assembly on Monday in an attempt to press his demands.
According to reports, Speaker CP Singh adjourned the house for an hour after Singh stripped off his shirt.
The opposition members moved to the Well of the house and started shouting over several issues after the Jharkhand Assembly convened at 11 am.
The house was adjourned for the second time on Monday as the opposition parties continued to disrupt the proceedings after the house assembled post first adjournment.
The opposition created ruckus in the assembly over several demands including regularising of para-teachers.
